My Talking Tom Friends Mod APK keeps crashing on my phone is there a fix?

I’ve been playing My Talking Tom Friends for a while, and recently I tried the My Talking Tom Friends Mod APK because a friend recommended it for extra features. The problem is, after installing it, the game runs fine for a few minutes but then crashes without any clear error.

I’m not sure if it’s because of my device specs (mid-range Android, about 3 years old) or the version I downloaded. I really enjoy the game and would love to keep my progress without the random crashes.
