Atari vcs 2019 console is finally ready for production

ever heard of atari? if you never heard of it then I don't blame you because you are too young to know it, atari is a videogame company. for the boomers & gen X'er the name Atari will always sound familiar to them because atari is the first-ever videogame company that sells the very first commercially successful videogame console called the atari 2600. the company itself was confirmed dead but if you catch up to the recent activities from atari you'll notice that it seems like atari is coming back from the graveyard with their new modern console : the ataribox. the console then renamed into atari vcs

now soo many people actually think it is a huge scam and when i see it at first i don't actually believe it but after seeing videos after videos now i am full of doubt. is the atari vcs really a scam? well the answer is.... no it isn't and here's why

prove that atari isn't lying about its newest videogame console

this is their indiegogo crowdfunding page, now don't you think that I photoshopped this image to make it look real. you could go to their indiegogo site here. now that you see it is totally legit your reaction as the new gen must be: so what? well if you are a late boomer / an early Gen X'er then this stuff will be very exciting for you because who doesn't grow up with the amazing atari 2600 on their living room in the 70's?

now at these conditions, it is very unclear whether or not atari is going to publicly release their console because the freakin coronavirus pandemic is going to make it harder for our brave and old videogame company

let's just hope it didn't end up a cancer like tiktok but that's it for today's news

Cool read. It’s interesting seeing Atari try to step back into the console space after all these years. A lot of people forget how big the Atari 2600 era really was and how much it shaped modern gaming. The VCS definitely feels like a nostalgia driven project, but I’m curious to see how it performs once it’s fully out in the wild. By the way, if anyone here enjoys word puzzles during gaming breaks, I’ve been using some handy tips from Wordle Hints that make daily games more fun.

This is a well-written and fair take on the Atari VCS situation. Atari’s legacy is so strong that skepticism and excitement were bound to exist side by side. Mentioning the Indiegogo campaign was important, as it helps clarify that the project wasn’t just empty hype but had real backing.

Retro-inspired hardware making a comeback shows how powerful nostalgia still is in gaming, especially for older generations. At the same time, modern gamers are drawn to innovation and performance something we also see in today’s sports and simulation titles. For anyone interested in current football gaming trends alongside classic gaming discussions, platforms like the DFL 25 soccer game site are worth exploring.

While the pandemic clearly affected production timelines, this article makes…

The Atari VCS story has definitely been a roller-coaster. A lot of people assumed it was a scam early on because Atari’s brand had gone quiet for years, and crowdfunding hardware is always risky. But like you said, the VCS did move through real production stages, showed working units at events, and shipped to backers—so it wasn’t a fake project.

The real challenge has been something else: finding its place in the modern market. Today’s players either want high-end PC performance, dedicated console ecosystems, or retro nostalgia. The VCS sits somewhere in the middle—part retro machine, part small PC, part Linux box. For classic Atari fans, that’s enough. For mainstream gamers, it’s harder to justify unless they specifically enjoy tinkering.
